The Bharadwaj Ashram is currently located in the Colonelganj, Prayagraj. The sage Bhardwaj established a shivling of Bhardwajeshwar Mahadev in Bharadwaj Ashram along with hundreds of other statues. Ram Lakshman, Mahishasur Mardini, Surya, Sheshnag, and Nar Varah are notable among them.
Ayurveda’s first patron was Maharishi Bhardwaj. Also, Lord Rama had gone to the ashram of the sage Bhardwaj to seek his blessings. It is a matter of research to determine where the ashram existed at the time. However, it is currently located near the Anand Bhawan. Also, there is a Shiv temple also on the premises. Few other statues of Bhardwaj, Yagyavalkya, and other sages, gods, and goddesses are also here. The rishi Bhardwaj was great rishi Valmiki’s disciple.
Previously, Bharadwaj Ashram’s steps were submerged in the river. However, the river is now getting restrict to the Sangam Area. Also, people visit here to better understand the depths of Indian mythology and to see this calming yet exquisite ashrama. It is one of the most interesting places to visit in Prayagraj.
The ashram attracts a heavy crowd during religious dates & Kumbh Mela Prayagraj etc.
